Code of Conduct

My commitment to creating a welcoming, inclusive, and respectful environment for everyone.

This Code of Conduct outlines my expectations for anyone who interacts with my content, demo projects, open source repositories, blog comments, and other public spaces. I am committed to fostering a welcoming and respectful environment for all.

1. Our Pledge

We pledge to make interaction with my projects, content, and spaces a harassment-free experience for everyone, regardless of age, body size, visible or invisible disability, ethnicity, sex characteristics, gender identity and expression, level of experience, education, socio-economic status, nationality, personal appearance, race, caste, color, religion, or sexual identity and orientation.

We pledge to act and interact in ways that contribute to an open, welcoming, diverse, inclusive, and healthy environment.

2. Our Standards

Examples of behavior that contributes to a positive environment:

  • Demonstrating empathy and kindness toward other people
  • Being respectful of differing opinions, viewpoints, and experiences
  • Giving and gracefully accepting constructive feedback
  • Accepting responsibility and apologizing to those affected by our mistakes
  • Focusing on what is best not just for us as individuals, but for everyone involved
  • Using welcoming and inclusive language
  • Being patient with beginners and those learning new concepts
  • Offering help and support to others

Examples of unacceptable behavior:

  • The use of sexualized language or imagery, and sexual attention or advances of any kind
  • Trolling, insulting or derogatory comments, and personal or political attacks
  • Public or private harassment
  • Publishing others' private information without their explicit permission
  • Spam, excessive self-promotion, or off-topic content
  • Other conduct which could reasonably be considered inappropriate in a professional setting
  • Advocating for, or encouraging, any of the above behavior

3. Enforcement Responsibilities

As the site owner and content creator, I am responsible for clarifying and enforcing standards of acceptable behavior and will take appropriate and fair corrective action in response to any behavior that I deem inappropriate, threatening, offensive, or harmful.

I have the right and responsibility to block, restrict, or limit access to communications and interactions that are not aligned to this Code of Conduct, and will communicate reasons for such decisions when appropriate.

4. Scope

This Code of Conduct applies to all interactions across my digital spaces, including but not limited to:

  • Blog post comments via Giscus (GitHub Discussions)
  • Video content comments and interactions
  • GitHub repositories, issues, pull requests, and open source contributions
  • Demo projects and interactive applications
  • Email communications and inquiries
  • Social media interactions related to my content
  • Newsletter replies and interactions
  • Speaking engagements and workshops
  • Professional meetings and consultations

5. Reporting Guidelines

Instances of abusive, harassing, or otherwise unacceptable behavior may be reported to:

All complaints will be reviewed and investigated promptly and fairly. The privacy and security of the reporter of any incident will be respected.

When reporting, please include:

  • Your contact information
  • Details of the incident, including dates and locations
  • Links to or screenshots of relevant content
  • Names of any witnesses or other people involved
  • Any additional context that may be helpful

6. Enforcement Guidelines

The following guidelines will be used to determine the consequences for any action deemed in violation of this Code of Conduct:

1. Correction

Impact: Use of inappropriate language or other behavior deemed unprofessional or unwelcome.

Consequence: A private, written warning providing clarity around the nature of the violation and an explanation of why the behavior was inappropriate. The offending comment or contribution may be edited or removed.

2. Warning

Impact: A violation through a single incident or series of actions.

Consequence: A warning with consequences for continued behavior. Continued violations may result in restricted access.

3. Temporary Restriction

Impact: A serious violation of standards, including sustained inappropriate behavior.

Consequence: A temporary restriction from interacting with the project's public spaces (comments, issues, pull requests) for a specified period of time.

4. Permanent Ban

Impact: Demonstrating a pattern of violation of standards, including sustained inappropriate behavior, harassment of an individual, or aggression toward or disparagement of classes of individuals.

Consequence: A permanent ban from any sort of public interaction across my spaces, including being blocked on GitHub and having comments removed.

7. Attribution

This Code of Conduct is adapted from the Contributor Covenant , version 2.1, available at https://www.contributor-covenant.org/version/2/1/code_of_conduct.html .

Community Impact Guidelines were inspired by Mozilla's code of conduct enforcement ladder .
